Birthday extravaganza!

Well, I think we survived the Grant's 5th birthday! 3 parties and 1 head injury later we are happy to back at Monday and eagerly awaiting Grandma and Papa King's arrival! I couldn't help but reflect this weekend on the ever so familiar phrase used by many Mom's, " I can't believe my baby is getting so big". The tug at your heart seeing your little people grow is unbelievable and indescribable. While most days I am blessed to spend so much time with Grant and Maggie, I find it particularly satisfying to experience these landmark days with them. They are truly two amazing people and I learn more from them every day!

Maggie had her first head injury on Sunday! The doctor was able to glue it back together instead of using stiches...thank god! She was super brave and Grant was a great big brother! He was riding his new bike and Maggie ran in front of him. They collided and Maggie tumbled on the road! Lots of blood but luckily a treatable injury!

All in all a successful birthday weekend!

First Day of Kindergarten

Grant will be five in less than a week and yesterday was his first day of Kindergarten! I cannot believe how big my little guy is getting! He's riding a bike without training wheels, chewing gum and now he's a kindergarten-er! He had a great first day! He loves his teacher and had a lot of fun! Maggie had a rough time seeing big brother go to school! But, we start co-op next week so I think she'll get used to the new schedule! Here's a picture of the two of them being silly while I was trying to take pictures!

Back home again in Indiana

What a fantastic trip we had just a few short weeks ago. We're getting settled back into our schedule but can't wait to get back again to visit!

Maggie Update

Here's a sneak peak at Maggie's world!! Enjoy!

Worms!

We had quite a bit of rainfall today and in front of our house there is a terrible drainage problem which leaves a big "lake" for the kids to splash in when it rains. Today, Grant noticed a worm in the water. When we walked closer we realized there were A LOT of worms in the water! I mean, nealy 100!! When we got back this afternoon Grant went worm hunting with his neighborhood friend, Stephanie! I can't believe he got all these worms!!

Maggie wanted to go too but by the time we got outside it was pretty cold!!

Just me and my bike!

After MUCH apprehension Grant has finally decided to ride one of the MANY bikes we have been "storing" in our garage! Here is a sneak peek into his riding skills! You can hear the cul-de-sac mommies in the background worrying about getting locked out of the house!

Winter in the Inland Northwest

Well, it hasn't been much of a winter here this year. We've had very mild temperatures and NO snow which is a far cry from our record snowfall last year! Grant has been very sad that he hasn't been able to build a snowman! Grant and Maggie both started Kindermusik in January courtesy of Grammy Singleton! What a Merry Chirstmas present! They both love it so much! We've done some swimming lessons and both kids are doing great in school! (co-op for Maggie). Here are a few new pics of them! We miss everyone back home very much and can't wait to get back soon!
